Baking has always been meditative for me. Although I have been baking many things for over 15 years, my baking odyssey really began a few years ago when I was asked to make cupcakes for a Key West themed bridal shower. I love the challenge of working with experimental flavors with ‘out of the box’ ingredients like coffee, tea, bourbon, and many others. I am a foodie, so I find myself often trying something while out to eat, saying “oooo that could be a cupcake or a cookie.” I was also a math major at Virginia Tech, so I’m fascinated by the math and science behind finding the perfect flavor combination and texture.
I use organic and non-GMO ingredients, and I also bake vegan and gluten-free recipes because everybody should be able to eat dessert, no matter their dietary restriction!
When I started bringing my experiments into work for people to try, I often got asked: “That’s good sh!t. Why don’t you sell these?” And I finally answered to myself “Why DON’T I sell these?” So, I made the decision to embark on this journey full-time and am excited to see where it takes me. Now I love meeting new people and seeing my regulars at our Farmer’s Market locations.
